The Pontus II has joined the Audio Research SP17 preamp, Linn Sondek LP12, OPPO 205, Quicksilver M120s, Magnepan 3.3Rs and Bluesound Node with Teddy Pardo LPS as a component I will not replace.
The sound after 5 weeks is absolutely stunning. With the Node streaming Qobuz HiRes, it is the best my system has ever sounded. Extremely musically detailed, spatial and immersive experience. The Pontus and the Node are a great combination and are always powered on, never turned off.
My music of choice is EDM (Miss Kittin), electronic (Yello), well recorded and engineered vocal performances (Laurie Anderson, Chris Isaak).
Essentially music that elicits a visceral response and makes the wine taste better. Or… is it the wine that makes the music sound glorious?
Listening volume is generally at 80dB +/- 5dB. The carpeted room measures 15ft. x 25 ft. with a 11 ft. ceiling
The Schiit Audio Bifrost 2 has been moved to my office system.
