I had used the Ares 12th-1 in my system for a short time. I loved the sound so much that I decided to upgrade to the Pontus 12th-1 and Iris 12th. I was also really interested in trying I2S connection.
As with my first order from Vinshine, I received both products in about 1.5 weeks. Alvin and his team provided excellent customer service. I had a question on the connection of the Iris with the Pontus. Vincent replied with expediency and was very courteous and helpful.
First impressions in my system with the Pontus over the Ares was more warmth and deeper bass. The soundstage increased as well as better instrument separation. I was really surprised to see how things became more organic and smooth with the Iris. The Ares 12th-1 was no slouch. It is now being used on my desk with my headphones setup during work hours.
I am extremely happy with the Pontus and Iris combination!
