Hi Alvin,

See attached happy snaps of my system incorporating the Terminator Plus I hope some may be useful and my comments below helpful.

My initial thoughts on the Terminator Plus are as follows.

  • My system was already highly resolving, I had added a HD Plex linear power supply for the music server, and an Innuous Phoenix USB reclocker to clean up the signal to DEQX’s DAC. I received the terminator Plus and installed it yesterday evening. Listening at low levels that evening I was immediately struck by the improved clarity of the sound.

  • I am not a audiophile reviewer, but the things that have struck me since are: the vastly improved placement of instruments in the stereo image, the very “natural” sound, and the increased transparency. The Terminator Plus clearly reveals micro details in recordings that were previously obscured or less resolved. The overall sound is a joy to listen to, it is non-fatiguing, sibilants are smooth not harsh.

  • They say it will improve with burn in. I can hardly wait.

  • I would highly recommend this DAC to anyone considering a new DAC in this price range. It is a gem.

I've noticed the same thing with my own setup—low-volume listening tends to expose timing and texture issues, so hearing that the Terminator Plus stays clear at low levels is a big deal. It reminds me of something I read on https://limitfreicasino.com about how small edges compound over time; those subtle cues might seem minor, but they're what make the music feel alive. I'd love to know how much of this is the DAC itself versus the Phoenix reclocker he's running.
