My journey into separate transport and DAC started about two years ago when I replaced Arcam CD192 with Cambridge CXC and Denafrips Ares II. It was amazing experience of how music may sound.
Now, switching to Jay's Audio CDT2-MK3 and Denafrips Venus II it's another leap into WOW factor, nothing less. My first impression was enormous sound stage with three dimensional placement of instruments and vocals, not only in horizontal plane but in the height
above it. The instruments and vocals placed in precise locations are three dimensional themselves, simply amazing. Not that Ares II was not spacious, but Venus II is in different league.
The naturalism and details of sound is another step toward bliss, and the burn-in period just began.
Overall I am very satisfied with my decision to upgrade and with assistance from Alvin.
