Initial impression out of the box, Pontus II’s mid sounds a bit bright. After a couple of days it springs to life as a major improvement over my other dacs (PS Audio Directstream & Macintosh DA1). After just a few days burn in and the sound is more neutral and focused with great transparency. I am pairing Pontus with Nordost Cables and the result is the best I heard yet.
