I was using Matrix Audio X Sabre Pro MQA DAC for a while. This is probably one of the best DACs using ESS ES9038PRO integrated circuit. It worked well but I wanted to upgrade it with some isolation and OCXO reclocking processor. After many emails exchanged with Alvin (Vinshine Audio) I decided to go for Terminator Plus.
I was expecting something better but this DAC really impressed me. It sounds soooo good! This was obvious immediately after connecting it. Now, after one month of listening to it, I can briefly describe what it sounds like. The image is more focused, the basses are tighter, the overall soundstage is more precise. In other words - you get more music.
I miss a remote control and some display instead of the tiny leds, but the sound of this DAC is really fantastic. If you can afford it, go for it.
