DENAFRIPS Pontus II 12TH DAC
My most recent acquisition is the new DENAFRIPS Pontus II 12TH DAC. The entire purchase experience from VINSHINE AUDIO was excellent, from pre purchase queries through to the online purchase and delivery to Canada in a week. I much appreciated the post delivery communication from the team at VINSHINE AUDIO soliciting my feedback and offering assistance if needed.
The Pontus II 12th has elevated the sound and musicality of my audio system to heights I did not imagine. The Pontus II 12th replaced 2 Delta Sigma DAC’s that I had been recently experimenting with as well as a DAC I had in my system for 19 years – long before DAC’s became so popular and mainstream.
I will describe the sound as having deep textured bass, a midrange that is exquisite with nuanced voicing and highs that have plenty of detail and air completely devoid of any digital artifacts. Music comes across sounding as dynamic as the track is recorded and the rest of my system allows. The soundstage is wide & deep with excellent separation between instruments allowing for pinpoint imaging.
I can honestly say that am now enjoying music from my audio system more than I ever have!
