Just letting you know how pleased I am with my new Ares II. This is my first outboard DAC, and it lifted the veil off my NAD CD player. Am hearing my CDs for the "first time." Everyone that has heard it so far says "wow."
Am using XLR outs into a Luxman integrated amp, and high-quality digital coax from CD to Ares. For an 'entry level' unit, it is outstanding! Frequencies balanced throughout the spectrum, excellent low end, very little high-end hash. Will be even better when Ares and my cables are burned in.
