Thank you for contacting and for your product. I am really impressed by how many new details and nuances Venus II unveiled in the records I have been listening for ages.
My system setup consists of Denon PMA-A110 Integrated Amplifier, Venus II 12th DAC, Hedlund Horn design hand-made loudspeakers with Lowther DX3 full range speakers installed.
The system has very open and dynamic sound with the fast and firm low bass range (drums, bass) clear and natural midrange and quite bright high end. The midrange is slightly exaggerated due to the speakers specs. However, it give a sense of naturality and transparency, especially for classical music and other unplugged instruments and vocals.
The speakers have a back horn loaded design with no crossover filters. Therefore, with their sensitivity of 103 dB W/m the speakers are very fast and resolving. Speaker cables are from Perl Acoustics.
Denon has a quite decent build in DAC with a separate power transformer. However, Venus II made a huge difference in the musicality, scene depth, tembral richness and microdynamics of musical instruments. I can hear an air in the live records, that create a sense of presence at the performance.
The DAC is connected to my Roon server by USB cable.
My wife and I are enjoying the musicality and and live-like sound of the system setup.
The sound of the DAC is still improving.
