Compared to my Venus, the Terminator II 12th sounds crisper, bigger, bolder, wider and deeper…

As my first Denafrips device I ordered the Venus II because I like to choose new things in the middle of the range: not the cheapest, not the most expensive.

Connecting the Venus II 12th to my system for the first time, I was amazed by what it brought right out of the box. After around 250 hours it really came to life and I thought I was completely happy.

Until -unexpectedly- I heard the Terminator II 12th. And as things go, improvements don’t go out of your head easily.

So now a new black Terminator II 12th has been playing here for around 300 hours and the Venus II 12th does it’s magic in it’s new owner’s house.

The TII has opened up, first in the mid-range, then in the highs and finally in the lower frequencies. Compared to my Venus, the TII 12th sounds crisper, bigger, bolder, wider and deeper, by lack of better words. It is very much worth the extra money.

This is where I play music with:

- Innuos Zenith Mk3 (Roon) server

- Crystal Cable Diamond 2 USB

- Denafrips Terminator II (12th Anniversary Edition) DAC

- Crystal Cable Reference Diamond XLR

- Mark Levinson No585 amplifier

- Crystal Cable Reference Diamond Speaker cables

- Martin Logan Expression ESL-13A loudspeakers

- Furutech power cords and connectors

- Internet modem and router on Sbooster Linear Power Supplies

- Nuprime switch on TeddyPardo LPS
