The Ares II has “changed my life”. Its like having a Stradivarius playing in my home, a Monet hanging on the wall (a Ferrari in the garage!). I matched it with a Schiit Freya + tube preamp and a powerful ss amp with my Klipsch Chorus speakers. Superb! Sublime! The best sound I have experienced in my modest home, and perhaps all I need in terms of being sufficiently audiophile! Thank you! Yes the Ares is phenomenal, as I say a little bit life-changing. It’s like experiencing c
Dear Alvin, Thank you for your email and I would be very glad to share my user experience with your target audience. I have been using my Venus II for around two months now and I love it more each day. The DAC is very well built and weighs kind of heavy. Compared to my old DAC (ESS9038Pro based), the Venus II sounds much more analogue and with a bigger sound stage. Musical instrument separation and transparency is slightly less but the Venus II has far less digital glare.
I love taking risks, especially when they pay off and I am surprised along the journey. I took a risk with my first Denafrips purchase, the Ares II DAC. No returns does not offer much of a security blanket. Still, enough reviewers had praised the sound, construction and customer service to take a chance. After all, I was not spending many thousands of dollars like I would on audio gear of similar reputation. After a couple of non-critical listening days the surprises started.
Very nice sound. Now I can listen some records which was thin sounding or with too match sparkle in high frequency. I'm very glad. Credit: Simon G @ Slovenia PRODUCT INFO: https://www.denafrips.com/dac WHERE TO BUY? https://www.vinshineaudio.com/shop

As a context, my system includes : Hegel H190 amp with an internal Dac which is now replaced by Ares II, B&W 702 s2 (excellent speakers at its price range although its high frequencies appear too forward to my taste), KEF Kube 12 subwoofer (not frequently used). Findings so far on the impacts of Ares II ( in OS slow mode ) on the sound quality of my system: warmer, more engaging, more natural very importantly : th
Dear Alvin, As I promise, after about 20-30 hours of listening, I am able to formulate my review, based on what I was able to hear during these sessions, using the Denafrips Ares II DAC. As others already mentioned, I also find this DAC being in the analog sound register, having a lovely warm/creamy timbre projected into a great soundstage. In other words, the bass notes are detailed, palpable, goes deep, are firm and very well contoured. Regarding the midrange, the vocals fo
Attached are pictures of my system. Electronics are on shelves in a closet so are not very photogenic. Speaker arrangement looks better. Involved in the audio hobby for over 40 years. Very recently replaced all electrolytic capacitors in the M505 amp, C-21 preamp, Yamaha EQ, and Onkyo Control Center with Nichicon audio grade capacitors. Rebuilt the ST 70 Amp upgrading with VTA Octal board, Gold Lion KT77 output tubes. Rebuilt the Tannoy Eyris DC3 crossovers using Erse air
